To be part of the Hardwoods USA product line-up, the wood must be beautiful, exotic, Australian, or rare. It must also be ethically and sustainably managed by its source manufacturers or states.
We procure only from trusted sources with known and traceable pathways of supply. We simply do not deal with manufacturers, companies, or locations that are known violators of national and international environmental or other regulations. That means we also avoid suppliers who manufacture products that are knowingly damaging to human health and environmental health. To achieve our high standards, we have built a tight network of trusted sources with whom we have developed mutually respectful relationships over decades.
Visionary origins
Hardwoods USA's precursors were websites for Australian Cypress flooring and lumber in the U.S. market (see also "Our History" this page). Operated exclusively online since 2003 and 2004 respectively, these sites were among some of the first in the USA to operate a flooring and lumber business online - a visionary approach at that time.
Ultimately, Hardwoods USA was formed (Delaware) to independently continue that visionary path of specialist "online store front" divisions offering an expanded range of beautiful Australian and exotic flooring and lumber at Australian Woods . com and at French Oak . biz .

We deal direct wth our hardwood suppliers and we deal direct with you. We avoid the massive overheads of flooring showrooms and sales staff (who don't know a thing about Australian hardwoods but sure will try to sell you!)
Does that mean that everything we sell is cheap?
Uh-no… The flooring and lumber we supply from Australia or other places overseas are manufactured at local costs under often strict regulatory requirements. AND THEN, for example, ocean freight for a container load of flooring or lumber from east coast Australia to east coast USA takes at least 60 days, and there are all the associated imported costs. You get the picture…
Our history
~ From 2003 - 2016: The company operated as the flooring and lumber division of a mixed business LLC.
~ From 2017: To fully reflect the singular focus of its fast growth in flooring and lumber, that division became Hardwoods USA (LLC), a separate and independent company, registered in Delaware and Virginia.
~ Today: The company is, and always has been, a privately owned and family operated business.
